The compost and brush site is available to residents daily from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The compost area is exclusively used for organic materials that degrade quickly including grass clippings, leaves, mulch, flowers, weeds, sod, garden waste and holiday greens.  Bags must be removed when dumping these items.  Trees, branches, brush, bushes, and other natural wood products are accepted and need to be placed in the brush / wood area at the site.

DUE TO ILLEGAL DUMPING THE FOLLOWING CHANGES WENT INTO EFFECT IN 2020:

  1. Only those contractors who are performing tree and brush services for residents within the municipality are permitted to use the site.
  2. No dumping of lumber, rocks, clay, spoils from excavation, concrete bituminous or any other non-organic material.
  3. Dumping of garbage, petroleum products, chemicals, electronic equipment, appliances, and other inorganic items is strictly prohibited.
  4. Security gates with automatic timers have been installed.
  5. Video surveillance cameras are in force 24/7.

Directions:  Located at City Hall, 2052 County Road 24.  Enter through the security gate adjacent to the lower-level parking lot and watch for signage for the compost site (located on the south or left-hand side) or the brush site (located on the north or right-hand side).  Residents may exit through the same gate, or directly onto County Road 24 by SLOWLY approaching that security gate.  Due to traffic safety issues, entrance via County Road 24 is no longer allowed.
