THE PARK COMMISSION
The City of Medina is accepting applications for the Park Commission. Two appointments are available, with terms expiring December 31, 2027. Applicants must reside in Medina for at least one-year preceding appointment. The commissions are volunteer recommending bodies to the City Council and Planning Commission.
Additionally, one Youth Park Commission appointment is available; applicants must be under the age of 18 and reside in Medina for at least one-year preceding appointment. Youth member terms are for one year from the date of appointment, with the option to extend for one additional year. Youth members are non-voting members, however, still provide valuable input on park related business.
WHAT DOES THE PARK COMMISSION DUE?
Park Commissioners provide advice and recommendations on matters of development and use of parks and recreational facilities, recreation programs, preservation of natural resources, and promotion of environmental awareness. Commissioners often partake in annual events such as Clean-up Day and Celebration Day.
The Park Commission meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at Medina City Hall. The deadline for applications is Friday, December 13, 2024.

Review of applications and interviews is tentatively planned for late December, 2024. Official appointment to the Park Commission will be made by the City Council in January, 2025.
