THE PLANNING COMMISSION
The City of Medina is accepting applications for the Planning Commission. One appointment is available, with a term expiring December 31, 2025. Additionally, two appointments are available, with terms expiring December 31, 2027. Applicants must reside in Medina for at least two-years preceding appointment. The commissions are volunteer advisory bodies to the City Council; established pursuant to City Code Section 825.33 and MN Statutes Section 462.354 Subdiv. 1(2).
WHAT DOES THE PLANNING COMMISSION DO?
The Planning Commission shall have such powers and duties as may be conferred upon it by statute or ordinance. Planning Commissioners make recommendations to the City Council on matters related to the comprehensive plan and zoning ordinance and also on land use applications such as subdivisions, conditional use permits, site plan reviews and variances. The Planning Commission also reviews such additional matters as may be requested by the City Council.
The Planning Commission meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at Medina City Hall. The deadline for applications is Monday October 21, 2024 and Friday, December 13, 2024.

After review of applications, interviews will be scheduled. Official appointment to the Planning Commission will be made by the City Council.
